BERKELEY CASTLE & GLOUCESTER

We have negotiated with the Berkeley family for a special visit to their family home on Wednesday 17^th September.  We will have official guides to show us round the castle, which has been occupied by the Berkeley family for 900 years.  King Edward II was murdered here and Queen Elizabeth 1 certainly visited, to go hunting.  The castle has lovely grounds and gardens.  The café in the walled garden serves snacks, light lunches, and hot and cold drinks. 

After our tour we will drive to nearby Gloucester where the busy town centre, Norman Cathedral and the restored Victorian docks, with their many antique shops, should provide interest to everyone

The cost for this trip will be £48, to include admission to this private castle, a guided tour, coach transport and driver’s tip.

The coach will leave from Albrighton, Crown bus shelter at 8.00am and The Methodist Church, Histons Hill, Codsall at 8.15am returning by about 6.30pm. The cost of this trip is £
